Job Description for Business Development Manager - Door Division:


The Business Development Manager will be responsible for growing sales in New York and the New England territory by developing new accounts and grow sales for existing accounts for our Door Division which is focused on cold storage and specialty doors. Compensation will emphasize new account acquisition and/or development. Meet company established sales goals for assigned territory/customers. Conduct effective sales presentations on the company’s product line in response to the unique needs of each customer.  Provide customers with quotations for products and services and follow up after sale to ensure customer satisfaction. 


Essential Duties:

  • Call on Commercial Door Dealers, Dock & Door & Material Handling companies in addition to General and Sub-Contractors.

  • Grow sales with existing customer base and develop new accounts throughout the territory.

    • Follow-up on leads

    • Cold-calling potential new customers

  • Actively involved with industry associations

    • Commercial trade show participation is required

  • Report outcomes of client meetings in CRM (Customer Relationship Management)

  • Explain and demonstrate the products to new and existing customers along with architects and owners

  • Set customer expectations and relay customer feedback to the company

  • Provide weekly and monthly reports (funnel reports, call reports, expense reports, etc.) to management.

  • Source and update in CRM daily

  • Performs miscellaneous sales duties as requested by management.


Qualification Requirements:

  • Technical knowledge in the commercial door industry

  • Customer focused

  • MUST be professional, self-start, and a team player

  • Must be professional and knowledgeable in construction

  • Must be able to read plans, do take-offs and create own estimates

  • Territory management experience in the commercial door industry

  • Enthusiastic, charismatic, goal-oriented, resourceful, and attention to details.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers and vendors

  • Presentation skills and computer/software proficiency (Microsoft Office is required)

  • Able and willing to work extended hours as required;

  • Travel Requirement:50-75%

    • Must have your own transportation as travel throughout eastern NY and the New England region will be required.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from four-year college preferred, but not required.

  • Qualified applicants should have a successful track record of at least 3 years of high-performance direct selling experience.

  • Experience in the Commercial & Industrial Doors sales or related field is required .



Base Salary + Commission
