The HCR® Conditioned Cold Storage Air Curtain meets that challenge head-on. By adding heat to the equation, this model expertly separates significant temperature differences in cold storage and freezer applications.
This expert industrial access system, formerly known as the CAC model, pulls in a mixture of warm-side and cold-side air and heats it. It then pushes that air across the doorway to form a protective barrier. This laminar air barrier keeps warm air out, reduces energy loss, and prevents frost buildup. Keeping freezer conditions stable and efficient with reduced defrost cycles.

Third party tests prove that HCR's air door technology stops 80% of air infiltration and energy transfer between rooms with different temperatures. The air stream creates counter-flow forces that directly oppose the natural movement of air caused by temperature differences.
This unit maintains stable temperatures in wide-open environments. You can use it between cooler-to-cooler, cooler-to-ambient, and freezer-to-freezer zones. Between two freezers, the air curtain works effectively without requiring added heat.
Hybrid Door Compatible
Pairing the HCR® Conditioned Air Curtain with an insulated cold storage door creates a high-performance hybrid solution. This setup combines the sealing of a fast-acting traffic door with the continuous protection of an air curtain. By doing so, you can further reduce air infiltration when the physical door is closed and achieve 90%+ efficiency even when the opening is in use.
For facilities with low to medium traffic, HCR® hybrid air doors can integrate with existing cold storage high-speed doors.
