HCR® Negative Pressure Air Curtain

HCR® Negative Pressure Air Curtain

HCR® Negative Pressure Air Curtain

The HCR® Negative Pressure Air Curtain uses specialized air flow to reduce warm air infiltration in high-traffic, temperature-sensitive environments.

Industries

Cold Storage, Food & Beverage, Logistics & Distribution, Retail & Commercial

Benefits

  • Employs airflow to counter act pressure differences between spaces

  • Reducing door flow through velocity to reduce temperature swings & moisture buildup

  • Reduces migration of partials/airborne contaminates from one space to another

Features & Benefits

Easy Integration

Engineered for straightforward installation, making it easy to integrate into new or existing buildings without significant structural updates.

Improved Air Quality

The system maintains higher indoor air quality by minimizing the influx of pollutants, dust, and particulates from outside.

Diverse Applications

Designed to be effective in a variety of settings and doorways. Its flexibility enhances its utility across different business types.

When even minor air leakage can create major consequences, a standard air curtain isn’t always enough. That’s where the HCR® Negative Pressure Air Curtain comes in. This specialized negative pressure air curtain does more than block temperature shifts...it reverses them.

Negative pressure occurs when the air pressure inside a room is lower than the air pressure outside it. In cold storage, that imbalance pulls in warmer, moisture-laden air every time a door opens. What follows? Frost, spoiled products, and overworked refrigeration systems.

The Negative Pressure Air Curtain, formerly known as the NPAC, solves this with a horizontal, curving airflow. Instead of pushing air across the doorway like traditional air curtains, it uses a proprietary nozzle and recirculating intake. This forms a controlled loop that reduces infiltration.

HCR® proudly engineers, designs, and manufactures its air curtain doors in the United States. These custom engineered solutions do more than perform—they redefine what’s possible in climate-critical spaces.

HCR® equipment is an engineered solution, as such what is represented here is a standard offering. Anything beyond these would be norms can be evaluated.

Built-in Negative Pressure Controls

Actively combats one-way airflow caused by wind or building pressure. Using specialized technology, this model provides superior protection in breezy or high-volume applications.

Custom-Engineered

HCR® isn’t a one-size-fits-all system; it’s an engineered solution. We design each cooler and freezer air door specifically for your environment. This ensures optimal performance based on your unique layout, traffic flow, and temperature demands.

Specialized Technology

This HCR® air door features a single, adjustable nozzle and a recirculatory airflow loop. It also uses a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) controlled centrifugal fan for precise performance.

Where the HCR® Negative Pressure Air Curtain Performs

The HCR® Negative Pressure model excels in tough cold storage settings with a durable steel enclosure, optional cladding, and VFD-driven fan. It ensures reliable thermal separation while allowing smooth movement of people and equipment.

Industrial Warehouse Doors

High-traffic docks face wind-driven infiltration. HCR® Negative Pressure warehouse cooler doors stabilize pressure and keep zones consistent during constant activity.

Cold Storage Environments

In cold storage rooms, small pressure imbalances can draw in warm, moist air. HCR® air doors for freezers and coolers reverse airflow to maintain stability, prevent frost, and improve efficiency.

Air Doors in Food Processing Facilities

Food production safety depends on precise environmental control. The HCR® separates cold, ambient, and clean zones, protecting products from moisture and temperature shifts.

Pharmaceutical Doors & Air Curtains

When precision matters, strict environmental separation is essential. The HCR® Negative Pressure Air Curtains for pharma minimize contaminants and separate environments with precision.
